Richard Frymann

Richard Frymann passes away

It is with great regret that we have to announce that our dear friend and colleague Richard passed away on the morning of Wednesday 10th March

Hundreds of golf administrators got to know Richard well during almost 20 years with Club Systems, servicing golf clubs all over Scotland.  But few knew that his association with Keith Roberts (our founder) started well before and has even more significance.  Richard became our first customer when he purchased an Osborne PC and a copy of CLUB 82 for Hazel Grove Golf Club in Cheshire, where he was Handicap Secretary.  His recommendations helped the business to grow, particularly in the early days.

Richard told us that he had terminal cancer in 2007, but wished to continue to work as normal.  He also continued to play his beloved game until quite recently, at Bathgate golf club in West Lothian. Richard also loved playing at many of the clubs he worked at, only a matter of months ago he competed in senior opens at Duddingston, Monifieth, Longniddry, Newmachar, Broonieknowe and Haggs Castle.  He even took part in the first round of the Bathgate Winter League in October 09.

His hard work and dedication became renowned at Club Systems.  Over the last 3 years, we have been astounded by his loyalty and focus.  But the determined, pragmatic and dignified approach he took to his illness, will remain with us as a testimony to a man so many will miss.

Our thoughts are with Myra, Richard’s widow and all of his other friends and family.
